Highland Hotel Seek a Manager

Aberdeenshire AFA - 24 June 2010 - 7:01pm

Highland Hotel AFC are currently seeking a new Manager to take charge of weekly training and matchday selection starting from the current Season – 2010/11 – which kicks off soon.

The club was reformed 2 seasons ago with instant promotion in our first season back and a respectably high finish last season. We would be hoping to succeed in gaining promotion this coming season as the level of playing personnel certainly warrants it. It won’t be all results driven as there is also a good social element to the club which we hope the new man (or woman) will become part of.

The role would suit a recently retired player or someone looking to get back into the game. An enthusiastic and intellegent approach is all that is asked for. If this sounds like you or someone you know then please contact Craig Brechin on 07736321505.

FC Polska in Search for New Coach

Aberdeenshire AFA - 22 June 2010 - 10:07pm

FC Polska are urgently seeking a new coach for the Season 2010/11 which starts on Saturday 7th August.

FC Polska were established on 13th of May 2007. Since then the Polish team has been successful in many fields including league, cups, tournaments and 5-a-side games.

The season 2009/2010 started with eighteen players on board and was a very successful one for the club finishing with promotion to the 2nd division.

In the same season, FC Polska not only played well in the league but they were also successful in cup and tournament games. This allowed them to practice and gave them the opportunity to play in the Final of the Chattan Rovers Cup, finishing as runners-up. They have also won many other tournaments organized by Goals and Strikers.

They are seeking an enthusiastic person to take on the role of coach who will build, train a team with the prospect of gaining promotion.

Any interested person can contact the Club Secretary Sebastian Liszka by mobile on 07907718163 or e-mail Seblis27@gmail.com.

Old Aberdonians Seek New Manager

Aberdeenshire AFA - 9 June 2010 - 10:12pm

Old Aberdonians are seeking a new manager or management team for season 2010/11 as a result of their current manager having to stand down due to other commitments after two successful seasons in charge.

The club finished last season in fourth place in the Premier Division and also reached the fifth round of the Fosters Scottish Amateur Cup. Pre-season training is scheduled to start in July and training during the season takes place on Wednesday evenings on the floodlit astroturf at Keith Park.

The players from last season are committed to the club again next season and the club also has an experienced committee in place to take care of administrative issues.

Anyone who is interested in the role or who wishes any further information is asked to contact the club secretary, Geoff Clark, on 07729 046103.

Bon-Accord City 3 – 1 Echt

Aberdeenshire AFA - 7 June 2010 - 8:27am
Premier Division at Balgownie on Saturday 5th June

Bon-Accord City clinched the AAFA Premier Division title for the first time after defeating Echt 3-1 in the championship decider at Balgownie on Saturday.

These two sides had battled for supremacy at the top of the table throughout the season and it was fitting that they met on the final Saturday to decide the destiny of the Premier Division title. Bon-Accord’s narrow victory over Westdyke in midweek meant that they went into this final game holding a crucial one point advantage over their visitors.

The game kicked-off in bright sunshine and it was Echt who were the first to threaten when Swan fired in a dangerous cross from the right but Sutherland was on hand to clear the danger. Play then moved quickly to the other end where Bartlet volleyed just wide after good build-up play on the left from McLaren and Craig.

The game settled down into an evenly contested midfield battle for much of the remainder of the opening period, with neither goalkeeper being unduly troubled. However, just as it looked as if the first half would end goalless, Echt suddenly broke the deadlock five minutes before the interval when Calum Murray latched on to an incisive through ball from Swan and slotted the ball low past Hill.

Half-time: 0–1

Bon-Accord forced a number of corners in the opening stages of the second period and they levelled the scores on 53 minutes when Darren Redford rose to meet a cross from the right and powered a header just inside the base of the post.

It was Echt who now had to go on the offensive and Still looked to have created an opening for Yackiminie on the hour mark but Bartlet and Hill combined to avert the danger.

Bon-Accord then threatened to take the lead when Watt got on the end of a Tiffney cross but his effort was turned over the bar by Garden. However, a second goal for Bon-Accord did arrive on 73 minutes when a flick-on from Watt found Mark Bartlet who fired the ball into the bottom corner.

The destination of the title was then put beyond doubt six minutes later when Scott Craig grabbed Bon-Accord’s third goal with a well-directed header to ensure that they would take all three points and be crowned AAFA Premier Division champions for season 2009/10.

Final score: 3–1

Bon-Accord City: Hill, Sutherland, A. Craig, Harris, Durno, McLaren, Redford, Bartlet, S. Craig, Tiffney, Brazendale. Substitutes: Watt, Small, Stewart, Aurik, McDonald

Echt: Garden, Macleod, Robertson, Gill, Roger, Leith, Swan, Murray, Still, Yackiminie, Mann. Substitutes: Pawlett, McCoy, Majury, Walker, Troup

Referee: K. Law
