Kemnay FC 97 V Kintore United - 1st Round Belmont Trophy

When Where
23 Oct 2011 - 12:30pm Bogbeth Park, Kemnay

KEMNAY FC 97    14  KINTORE UTD    0        (BELMONT TROPHY 1ST ROUND)

Two former Kemnay players (Sylwek and Liam) lined-up for Kintore in this cup tie but they were shown no favours by the home side. Kintore are currently propping-up the “C” League and the pattern of the game was quickly established with Kemnay scoring 3 goals in the first 8 minutes.
The first was scored by James M from a Fraser corner and the second was by Iain one minute later. Sylwek in the Kintore goal appeared to have gathered the ball as Iain ran through but he unfortunately spilled it and Iain followed-up to knock it into the net. Alex scored the third with a shot low into the corner after a lay-off from Adam.
There was a 10 minute break before Kemnay scored their 4th and it was James M again who converted after receiving a pass from Adam.
Kintore had their first shot on goal after 20 minutes but the ball flew past the post. Five minutes later and Kintore came close again with James D getting down well to his right to palm-away a goal bound shot. James was soon called into action again and this time he dived and held a free-kick that was destined for the top left hand corner. The Kemnay defence settled after the little flurry of attacks by the visitors and had little to do overall, but  Kyle, CK and Liam defended well when they had to, with Connor  giving protection just in front of defence.
Kemnay woke up again and Alex was next to get his name on the score sheet after being played through by Iain. Adam came close before Fraser scored Kemnay’s 6th, strolling through the static Kintore defence. Jack and Adam completed the first half scoring as the Kintore heads dropped.

Half Time: Kemnay FC 97    8       Kintore Utd      0

Kemnay made 3 changes for the beginning of the second half, bringing on, Matthew, who returns after shrugging off a recent injury, Charlie and Callum M.
The pattern of the first half continued into the second and it was Adam who scored the 9th after a good run through the middle of the defence. Iain scored number 10 after closing-in on goal from the left and he then turned provider with Charlie sliding in on the right to convert his low cross.
The Kintore keeper (Sylwek had been replaced) saved well to prevent the score reaching 12-0 but a few minutes later, his defence seemed to fall asleep and James M was on hand to accept the gift (by this stage his mum was starting to get worried as to how much his goal scoring spree would cost her).
James M and Alex completed the rout, taking the final score to 14-0.

The reward for this victory is likely to be a somewhat more challenging game, as they play the winners of the East End BC V  FDS fixture, in the next round.
