KEMNAY FC 97 V TURRIFF YFC
At last, Kemnay's first game since the 29th of Nov!! The Bogbeth pitch looking quite good considering recent weather conditions. Turriff were the visitors today, but it was Kemnay who had early domination, Iain looked in the mood and had a few early chances but was unable to convert. Kemnay kept up the pressure, with 4 corners in quick succession. Iain tested the keeper on the 10 minute mark, but their keeper stood firm. Turriff were finding it hard to get out of their half. There then followed a bit of a "melly" in the Turriff box, which resulted in Adam poking the ball into the net to make it 1 - 0.
Another shot a few minutes later from Adam hit the post, then the keeper and into the net. 2- 0. Soon afterwards Adam completed his hat-trick with a well worked goal. 3- 0.
Iain finally got his goal, which his overall play deserved, to make it 4 - 0. He received the ball at the edge of the box and struck the ball hard and low into the bottom left corner of the net. 4 - 0.
Kemnay were well on top and were bombarding the Turriff defence. A thunderous shot by Alex was saved by the keeper, but he could not hold it and Jack was on hand to tap the ball over the line to make it 5-0. Another corner for Kemnay, taken by Alex, it was cleared and rebounded back to Alex who then thumped the ball into the right hand corner of the net, giving the keeper no chance.
The last goal of the half, came after a long run by Fraser, who placed the ball into the bottom right hand corner, to make it 7-0.
Half time: Kemnay FC 7 Turriff YFC 0
The second half kicked off and Kemnay continued as they had left off, with Jack scoring the first of the 2nd half. Some good football followed, with a neat 1/2 between Alex and Jack, who sent Sean through on goal, who took his chance well, to make it 9-0.
Turriff started to come into the game and had thier first chance, but determined defending by Kyle, Connor Hunter and Connor Ross diverted the danger.
A good corner in from the right by Jack, came out to Iain, who managed to hook his foot around the ball and found the net from 12 yards out. 10 - 0. James Duncan had very little to do, but he had to look lively when a Turriff player fired in a long range shot, which he handled well in the slippery conditions.
Kemnay were passing the ball around nicely and some good link up play saw Charlie break forward and score to make it 11-0. Minutes later Sean was unlucky to see his effort go just wide of the post.
The next Kemnay player to get in on the act, was Dean who scored a good goal, following some good movement and passing. There then followed a bit of head football, between James Mitchell and Dean, the ball fell to Chris who slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 13-0!
Turriff were starting to push for a consolation goal, all credit to them for not giving up, but the Kemnay defence stood firm. An excellent run from the centre of the park down the left by Sean, was squared across into the box, which Chris got onto and completed the scoring with his second of the game, to make the final score 14-0.
Another great team performance, well played boys, keep up the good work.
