K94 vs BYRON THISTLE FC

When Where
28 Aug 2010 - 2:00pm Bogbeth Park, Kemnay

K94 4   Byron Thistle FC 3

The seniors recorded their first home win of the new season today at a showery Bogbeth Park.

The gaffer emphasised the need to start on the "front foot" and this proved to be the case in the early stages of the game with Kemnay going 1-0 up after A GERRARD strike

This was soon cancelled out with a well flighted free kick to the back post which the Byron player ghosted in with a headed goal.

Kemnay bounced back with some great forward play from messers Gerrard, Napier , Paterson and Anderson. Goals from GERRARD, and NAPIER (2) pushed the score to 4-1 after 30 minutes. Fernando seemed to be having an unlucky time but kept plugging away to make things happen for him.

Byron got 1 goal back after a defensive lapse

Half Time 4-2

The second half was a stale affair until 15 minutes from time when the gaffer made a couple of substitutions.....Ogston on for Fernando and then the legendary John Harkin on for tough tackling Ryan Webster. This seemed to bring things to life..... again foward play from Kemnay was devastating but KFC found it difficult to hit the net after good efforts from Harkin, Gerrard, Paterson and Napier.

Anderson hit the post when it was easier to score but this did not affect a wonderful performance in the wide left role. Paterson was hitting the target consistently but was unable to score much to his frustration. A great performance from the midlfielder he clearly stamped his authority on the game.

A scare ocurred with 5 minures to go when Kemnay allowed Byron to make it 4-3

Despite this the Kemnay defence stuck to the task and tightened up to prevent any further embarassing scenes

Final Score 4-3       Man of the Match:- Glen Paterson

Summary:- Good win but we need to improve on our defensive qualities.
