With several games taking place at Bogbeth Park we decided to give up home advantage and play this Development League game against Kintore United B at Kintore.
With the clocks changing it was good to see everyone arriving on time and not just as the game was about to finish.
It was a very cold and blustery morning but the Kemnay players adapted better to the conditions with some fine football on display.
The game was very one sided with Kemnay stronger in every department however the Kintore players never gave up and tried to the very end which is full credit to them and their coach.
The Kemnay players showed some excellent control and at times their passing and finishing was similar to that of Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Henry (we all know who they play for).
In defence we had Samuel, Calum, Adam and Zoe who worked very hard and kept the Kintore team out - Adam in paricular showing some good touches and strong tackling - great improvement which is good to see,
In midfield Ethan, Scott and Craig sliced through the Kintore defence with their precise passing, ball control and excellent vision to pick out their team mate with some superb passing.
Keiron upfront terrorised the Kintore defence - he was like Torres, Rooney, Messi, Ronaldo & Mackie all rolled into one and Kintore had no answer to his lethal finishing. He certainly has an eye for goal and on this form Neil Lennon will be looking to sign him for the hoops (yes sorry to say Keiron is a Celtic fan)
We even had our regular goalkeeper Rhys play outfield for hte last 15 minutes and he also got onto the score sheet with a neat finish to a wonderful flowing move.
We will certainly have tougher games than this however this game showed the children what they can when they play as a team and work together.
The scorers for Kemnay were as follows :
Keiron x 7
Scott x 4
Ethan x 2
Samuel x 2
Craig x 1
Rhys x 1
Roll on the next game and we should go into that game full of confidence.
