K2001 6 v ALC Lewis United 3

When Where
18 Apr 2010 10:30am Bogbeth Park, Kemnay

We welcomed ALC Lewis to Bogbeth Park for our latest Development League match.

Played in ideal conditions with perfect weather for football both teams contributed in making this a most entertaining game.

The game started very evenly with Rhys called upon to make a fine save from an ALC attack.

It was ALC who took the lead after 5 minutes with a good move and a shot from the left which left Rhys with no chance.

Some good football in the midfield saw a precise pass by Scott through to Brett who shot narrowly past.

It was Kemnay who were doing the pressing and the more likely of the two teams to score the next goal. This proved to be the case when a burst of pace from Ruth down the right saw her beat a couple of ALC defenders before passing to Ethan who neatly placed his shot in the bottom corner.

The first 15 minutes continued to go from end to end with chances for both teams and once again Rhys was called upon to keep the Kemnay goal in tact.

The first 15 minutes finished 1 - 1.

The midfield trio of Scott, Ethan & Ruth were starting to dictate the game with some fantastic football, with control, vision and some accurate passes splitting the ALC defence open - unfortunately some excellent defending and fine goalkeeping kept the game level for most of the second 15 minutes.

The Kemnay defence of Samuel, Kerr & Michael were also defending as if their lives depended on it and keeping ALC out for most of this period.

A fantastic run by Scott who played a one two with Ethan finished with his shot being blocked by one of the ALC defenders.

It was ALC who were to score next with some good work down the right and a cross into the middle which was finished off by the ALC striker.

The second 15 minutes finished 2 - 1 to ALC.

ALC started brightly in the third 15 minutes and an excellent tackle by Michael broke down an ALC attack.

Ethan in the centre of the midfield was controlling the game with some fine passes and his vision picked out Brett with a through ball whose shot was well saved by the ALC goalkeeper.

It was all Kemnay and some good work by Ruth set up Brett to score his first of the game.

His second and third followed soon after to complete his hat-trick in what was a display of sensational finishing.

Scott down the left and Ruth down the right were terrorising the ALC defender with their control and pace and their never give up attitude were an example to their team mates.

The passing by the Kemnay team was a joy to watch and proved what this group of players are capable of when they put their minds to it.

Brett wasn't finished and a rasping shot by Ruth rebounded to Brett for him to score his 4th goal of game.

Brett was replaced by Calum up front who made an immediate contribution when his fine pass left Keiron through on goal and he made no mistake when through one on one with the goalkeeper.

Credit to ALC who kept on trying and they were rewarded with their 3rd goal of the game when a fine save from Rhys who couldn't hold onto the shot fell to an ALC player to tap it into the empty net.

This was the last action of a pulsating game and one in which I think Kemnay showed tremendous work rate, control, passing and more importantly team spirit and these kids were indeed a cradit to Kemnay Football Club.

Final score - 6 - 3 to Kemnay
