Fraserburgh LU Seahawks v Kemnay 2002

When Where
24 Oct 2010 - 10:30am

Today saw us make the transatlantic trip to Freezerburgh, well it is a long journey and it was just a wee tad chilly.

Our pre-match talk was all about ensuring we got something out of the game as a reward for the effort and commitment of making the early journey. The importance of having a strong squad was also discussed and this was clearly evident with Fraser and Lennon starting as substitutes today.

Our match against Fraserburgh kicked off in some rather difficult conditions but fortunately the horizontal rain soon abated leaving the cold Northerly breeze as the only element to overcome.

With the match kicking off a little earlier than planned some of our well travelled supporters were only just arriving as Kemnay raced in to an early two goal lead with Alfie finishing well and continuing from where he left off last week.

Fraserburgh were also playing some nice football and deserved to pull a goal back following some quick feet and a nice finish.

Kemnay didn't let this disrupt their good passing game and continued to play some good football with Kieran continuously providing some fantastic crosses which were difficult to defend and were leading to more chances for our strikers.

I'm not sure what Alfie is having for breaklfast these days but whatever it is, i hope Tesco have plenty on order as his finishing again today was a joy to watch as he bagged another five today. The first period came to a close but not before Kemnay produced one of their best moves of the season with some great one and two touch passing leading to Lennon heading just narrowly wide.

Following a number of changes both in player and positions the second period became more of a struggle for Kemnay but once again we had Cameron Crosbie in inspired form bringing off a couple of brilliant saves to keep Fraserburgh at bay.

The third period saw us regain our shape and start to move the ball better creating more scoring opportunities for doubles from Fraser & Aaron and goals from Lennon & Kieran and an unfortunate own goal giving us a total of twelve goals for the day.

With 62 goals from our opening six games the team deserve tremendous praise for their efforts and attitude so far, playing some very good football along the way.

Our next match is at home to Byron Swifts on Sunday, No Fancy Dress or Masks please, your scary enough as it is.
