This weeks Development League match saw us make the journey up to the Broch.
On a blustery day on a heavy pitch which made playing football on the ground very difficult.,
However full credit to both teams for playing the game in the right spirit and at times the football on display was excellent considering the conditions.
With the wind behind them it was the home team that started brightly creating several chances. However the Kemnay defence with Campbell, Zoe and Aiden holding firm and with a strong pair of hands between the posts in Samuel they were keeping the home team out.
This is not to say that Kemnay were not also causing the home defence problems with Craig using his pace down the wing and Keiron up front giving the home team a hard time.
It wasn't until near the end of the first third that the deadlock was broken - when a mazy run by the Fraserburgh winger - whose name was Scott and he was a menace the whole game with his trickery - beat several Kemnay players before passing inside for their forward to tuck it away past the helpless Samuel.
As we have seen in the past Kemnay hit right back when some good play between Archie and Keiron set up Craig who coolly placed it past the home keeper.
Kemnay now had the wind behind them atthe start of the second third and shortly after the start a strong run by Scott set up Keiron who smashed it into the net. Kemnay were creating several good chances but between poor finishing and good defending the ycould not add to their tally.
It was Fraserburgh who were to score next and then a further two in quick succession.
Again Kemnay hit back near the end of this third when Keiron scored his second after an excellent run by Archie which left Keiron with the simplest of finishes.
The heavy pitch took it's toll on the Kemnay team and it was fraserburgh who dominated the final third scoring three further goals.
However given the conditions there were some excellent performances from the Kemnay team and once again their effort cannot be faulted. They work very hard for each other and each week you can see them getting stronger.
This weeks Player of the Match was Campbell whose concentration levels were fantastic (well most of the time) and his tackling hard but fair.
