EAST END BC   2              KEMNAY FC 97   2

Well if this is Summer football, we are all dreading the winter mornings!!

Kemnay kicked-off their second League B match, this week against East End BC, in at windswept Aultons.
Conditions were very difficult for both sets of players, with the wind blowing strong, straight off the North Sea and with spells of driving rain thrown in just for fun!!
East end had the wind at their backs, in the first half. They seemed to have the better of the first 10 minutes, with Kemnay starting to come more into the game after that.
The first corner of the game went to the home team and the ball only just managed to reach the edge of the box , which was dealt with easily by the Kemnay defence.

Kemnay were working very hard with the wind in their faces and did manage to get the ball under control at times and Iain was sent through a couple of times, but was unable to convert.
East End had a shot next, but Alex had it covered and watched it go past his right hand post. Again East End threatened and Kyle had to look lively and put in an excellent block.

Kemnay were somehow managing to get to grips with the ball and there were some good passing and moving from Connor R, Connor H, Fraser, Iain, Jack and Adam.
Charlie, Ryan C and Kyle were working very hard in defence, standing firm.

Connor R had a shot at goal, which the home keeper missed, but unfortunately the ball went just wide of the left post.
20 minutes into the game and Connor R hit a shot from 25 yards out, which the keeper got his fingers too, but there was no way he was keeping that one out!
1 – 0 Kemnay.

5 minutes after that following some good trickery from Iain, beating a couple of players, the ball broke loose to Sean, who shot at the empty net, but without enough welly, leaving the home defence to clear.

Half Time:   East End 0   Kemnay FC 1

Conditions didn’t really improve by the time the second half kick-off.
Kemnay lost the ball at the half way line after 5 minutes play and the East End winger got a free run down the right wing, before whipping in a cross which was unchallenged and fell to the East End player at the back post to sweep the ball into the Kemnay net, leaving Alex with no chance. 1 - 1.
It was East End who nearly took the lead, but for brave goalkeeping by Alex, who saved down low at his left hand post, hurting himself slightly, but thankfully it wasn’t serious.

Kemnay seemed to go to sleep for a while, before making 3-4 good chances. Fraser picked the ball up on the left and drove to the bye line, whipping in an excellent cross, which Iain so nearly got on the end of, but not quite.
Adam broke forward on a couple of occasions, but was blocked by the advancing keeper.
Kemnay then had a corner out on the right, Fraser took the in swinger, which Connor H headed on to Sean, who managed to control and stroke the ball home to put Kemnay into the lead. 1 - 2.

East end were awarded a free kick out on the left, which the Kemnay management felt, should have actually been awarded to Kemnay! However, the East End player unleashed a blistering shot to Alex’s right hand post, which he saved brilliantly, but East End were first to react to the rebound and they somehow managed to squeeze the ball into the Kemnay net at the right hand post.  2 – 2.

Adam was through again after that, but had a bit of an angle, shooting into the side netting.

Final score:   East End BC 2   Kemnay FC 2

Well done to both sets of players, for playing so well in horrendous conditions, which made playing any sort of football very difficult. Also well done to all the supporters for braving the weather, we must all be mad!!
