Kemnay FC Milan travelled the short distance to Kintore Playing field for the "Local Derby" against our close neighbours.
KFC Milan welcomed a new player Callum Wilson, who took his place in goal for his first appearance.
Milan started the game very well, and nearly took an early lead through Cameron Carnegie, unforunately his shot came off the bar and was cleared to safety. Callum Wilson was called upon to make a good stop from the Kintore Forward. Kintore then managed to take the lead from a ball that was played over the top, where the defence got caught out, and Kintore went up 1-0. Callum Scott was unlucky not to score his first goal of the season, when he his header went just over the bar. Not long after that goal, Kintore managed to extend their lead to 2-0. Milan fought their way back into the game and Glen Munro scored with a good finish low into the corner of the net to make it 2-1. Callum Wilson made some good saves to keep the score at 2-1 at the end of the first period.
3 changes were made at the end of the first period, and 2 players who came on, created the second goal for Milan. Reece Brown and Ross Davidson combined, and Reece finished of a great cross from Ross to make it 2-2. Callum Fryers and Reece Brown linked up with a good 1-2, and Callum scored with a low shot to make it 3-2 Milan. The second period was played at a fast pace by both teams, and was providing the spectators with some great play. Caitlin Robbie and Ross Davidson were linking up well in the midfield, and were both unlucky not to add to their respective goal tally for this season. Milan then score a fourth goal, where again a great through pass from Lewis Beaton, set up Reece Brown to score his second of the game. Kintore scored a late goal in the second period, to make it 4-3 Milan.
Robert Lamb, Callum Scott & Cameron Carnegie replaced Lewis Beaton, Callum Fryers & Glen Munro for the 3rd and final period. Kemnay started where they left off, and Ross Davidson hit the bar after a short pass from Reece. Kemnay extended their lead when Cameron Carnegie finished with a well drilled low shot into the corner from a Reece Brown pass. Robert Lamb was moved from left midfield to forward, and was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty kick, when he was pushed over in the box. Kintore staged a fightback and they scored 3 goals to make it 6-5 Kintore. The sixth goal scored from a set piece with Stephen Reid scoring with a powerful header at the back post. With only minutes left on the clock, Milan staged another of their "Infamous Fight-backs". The ball was cleared from defence, where Reece Brown looked up, and fired a shot from the half-way line, and it crept in just under the bar. This would complete his hat-trick, but it was not finished there. Reece played through Ross Davidson, who fired a powerful low shot, but watched the Kintore keeper make a finger-tip save onto the post for a corner. Cameron Carnegie swung in a great corner, and Reece angled a header that went narrowly past the post.
The final whistle sounded, where it finished 6-6. The players from both teams were congratulated by both sets of coaches.
The players had provided an excellent game for the spectators, and was a great advert for Development Football.
