A bitterly cold morning awaited Peterhead on arrival at Kemnay on Sunday. The K2000 squad was depleted due to a few call offs, with Nathan Sangster stepping into the breach at the last minute to help out.
With no recognised keeper, Scott Dey was willing to don the gloves, and his coaches were delighted to see him perform heroics between the sticks on numerous occasions, throughout the match.
The heavy underfoot conditions suited the big Peterhead team much more than K2000, but this didn't stop the whole squad getting stuck in.
K2000 only managed 2 goals against their visitors, with Nathan Sangster making the most of his late call up, and Cameron Muirhead 'claiming' a goal direct from a corner, though there was a deflection off a defender, and then the goalie's face!
The home team huffed and puffed, with the second part of the game being their most successful, with some better football played, but on the day, Peterhead were too strong for them, all over the park.
Ally and John would like to thank David Temple for refereeing the entire match, the older coaches both under the weather due to a late night date with a certain Mr. Rod Stewart!
K2000 travel to Fraserburgh next week for a match that's been changed to astroturf. This'll be the first outing on this surface for most of the players, so it'll be interesting to see how they fare on a flat, dry playing field.
