Insch

Kemnay made the short trip to Rothienorman to play Insch - a match played in heavy rain, hail stones and at one point snow shower.

Both sets of players deserve a tremendous amount of credit for putting on an entertaining display considering the conditions.

With Insch graded A opposed to Kemnay's D it was always going to be a difficult fixture for Kemnay but one thing you can always rely on is effort and that is what we got from Kemnay team today.

The opening 20 minutes was very even with Insch coming out on top 1-0. Kemnay created several good chances with Brett, Archie and Craig combining well, and on numerous occasions it took good defensive tackles from the home defence to halt the Kemnay attack. As ever Rhys in the Kemnay goal pulled of some tremendous saves and kept the score line down.

The second period of 20 minutes was somewhat one sided with the home team bombarding the Kemnay goal and despite the efforts of the Kemnay defence several goals were scored without reply.

The third period was very encouraging and Kemnay more than matched their stronger opponents. Scott made some excellent runs down the wing and was linking well with Archie and Craig. Keiron in midfield was holding up play along with Adam who put in some strong tackles. Despite their efforts Kemnay were unable to break down the Insch defence but they never stopped trying.

The Kemnay players should be extremely proud of themselves against a very well organised and strong Insch side they held their own for long periods of the game in what was a very cold morning.

In a match played in a sporting manner we would like to thank our hosts for their hospitality and in particular to the parents providing teas/coffees, bacon rolls & pies these were most appreciated.
