Kemnay Football Club was founded in 1979 by Bill Blackie.
From modest beginnings the Club has developed and grown to one of the best supported clubs in Aberdeenshire with upwards of 200 children, some 30 coaches and countless numbers of volunteers and parent helpers.

In 2008 Kemnay Football Club became only the 9th club in the North District to be awarded the Scottish Football Association Quality Mark Standard Award. This award recognises the Club's organisation and administration off the pitch and our organisation and coaching excellence on the pitch.
Kemnay Football Club celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2009 and achieved another milestone by being awarded the SFA Quality Mark Development Award during this year.

A few of the Kemnay coaches attended a meeting hosted jointly by the SFA and SYFA this week. The purpose of the meeting was for the SFA to outline some proposed changes to Youth football and to introduce its Player Pathway i.e. the route available to children who start playing football at 5 years of age right through to the age of 19. The key changes include:
Eight Kemnay players were selected for the Under-13 Regional Trials recently held at Garthdee Sports Centre by North Region SYFA. From a total of 90 players over two days of trials, Ian Kelly and Sean Wilson, Kemnay 97 and 96 respectively, did enough to attract the interest of the selectors and were called back for the final trials held February 27th. Congratulations to all the players who attended but special mention to Sean Wilson who has been asked back to the next stage; the SFA Final Trials during March. Neil Paterson, Regional Secretary North Region SYFA said of the players, “the effort that all the players put in (throughout the trials) was very good. The manner in which they conducted themselves reflected very highly on their clubs. They made the selectors job very difficult.”
